We all know by now that the application of sunscreen is non-negotiable, thanks to UV’s ability to penetrate through cloud and cause damage to our skin. There are only two mineral sunscreen ingredients – titanium dioxide or zinc oxide, and essentially these formulas sit on the very surface layers of your skin, forming a physical barrier on top to deflect away the sun’s rays. Synthetic or often described as chemical sunscreens will use a range of ingredients including avobenzone or oxybenzone sink into skin and absorb the sun’s harmful rays instead.
