Glass skin – another K-beauty trend we just can’t get enough of, but how is best to create it? “Korea is known for its love of beauty and this makeup trend was born out of their desire for flawless, youthful-looking skin which was reflective like glass,” says Rachel Cole, senior artist at NARS. It is best achieved through good exfoliation and quality skincare, as well as the use of hydrating products and radiance-boosting primers.

“There is a different between highlight and glass-like skin in that for the glass skin trend, there should be no particles,” adds Rachel. “The idea is that it is translucent luminosity – not tinted in anyway and certainly not glittery. All skin types can wear this trend but for those with oilier complexions, I would suggest swapping out the super glowy products down the t-zone and using more oil-control skincare in these areas. You can then use any radiance-boosting products on the cheek bones to create more balance.” Here are five easy-to-use products to help you achieve that flawless, glass skin finish…

1

NARS Tinted Glow Booster

This customisable complexion fluid gives the ultimate soft-focus and glow-boosting finish – hence the name. Packed with jojoba complex and skin-coloured pearls, this really does brighten your complexion for a perfected and filtered appearance. We love to wear this alone now we’re moving in to the warmer months, but if you’re looking for fuller coverage, try under your usual base.

NEW Kevyn Aucoin Stripped Nude Skin Tint

Keen to blur imperfections but still have a natural-looking glow? This one’s a good choice. Packed with hyaluronic acid to really ramp up your skin’s moisture levels, this lightweight base helps to smooth and enhance the natural beauty of your skin while also giving it a fresh glow. Try applying to the centre of your face and blending outwards for a barely there finish.

NEW By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Foundation SPF30

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more hydrating base than this new foundation from By Terry. Enriched with the moisture-boosting hero that is hyaluronic acid, this skin-quenching foundation also helps to create a natural glow thanks to the auto-adaptive light pigments. The result? A dewy-fresh and luminous finish in seconds. Simply apply two drops with a damp BeautyBlender as this will ensure coverage stays light and sheer.

4

Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Primer Illuminating

To really enhance your natural skin, try this light-reflecting primer. The vitamin-enriched formula uses micronised pearls and porcelain flower extract to really illuminate the complexion and impart a healthy glow. If you’re having a good skin day, this alone will give you a glow like no other, but for those needing a little more coverage, apply before your concealer or foundation. This one really works wonders for rejuvenating dull or lacklustre skin.

Becca Skin Love Glow Shield Prime & Set Mist

This superfine mist is ideal for drier skin types who struggle to get that glow as it works to drench the skin with moisture thanks to it’s nourishing formula of vitamin E, goji berry, blueberry and Hawaiin sea water. Not only will it boost your natural hydration and radiance but it also works well over makeup to energise and add shine.
