There are few things more luxurious and rewarding than a soak in the tub. Whether you like to start your day with a soak or end it, or spend your bath time with a good book, a couple of episodes of something on Netflix or just some peace and quiet, there is one thing that you should always indulge yourself with and that’s a beautifully scented and beautifully presented bath oil. Here are our favorites…
This sublimely scented oil has earned itself a bit of a cult following. It’s not hard to see why; it’s soothing blend of essential oils includes vetiver which has almost miraculous qualities when it comes to calming your mind and making you feel emotionally and physically settled. We always have a bottle (or two) in our bathroom.
The mind is often in need of a wind down as much as the body. This beautiful blend of ylang-ylang, lavender and patchouli helps a busy and over-burdened mind switch off, while the additional natural rehydrating ingredients prevent that tight and parched feel that often afflicts skin after a hot bath. The green sprig inside the bottle makes this oil one that needs to be kept out on the shelf in full view of guests.
Containing the hottest ingredient of the moment, CBD, this combination of minerals, essential oils and botanicals, work together to soothe tired muscles and address stress levels. The packaging is striking and looks beautiful on the shelf – and the salts themselves could not be easier to use; just empty and entire packet into a tub of hot water and relax in the brew for at least 20-minutes.
We love a bath at any time in the day but a hot bath after a strenuous workout has got to be our favorite. Treat your aching and over-worked muscles to a soak in one-or-two capfuls of this oil; with rosemary, ginger, lavender and black pepper essential oil, it makes tight muscles turn to butter. It’s the bathing equivalent to a post-workout massage.
While not strictly a bath oil, this silky shower oil is so decadent we recommend using it in the tub too. It contains notes of rose and crushed blackcurrant leaves and, of course, Diptyque’s coveted L’Ombre Dans L’Eau fragrance. Think of a soak in this as your first layer of fragrance before an evening out.
